On Friday, June 11 at 15.00 p.m., the rules for entering Norway will change again. Police are very concerned as this means more travelers and more queues at more border crossings.

Entry checks are extensive, questions related to regulations and quarantine hotels take a long time and cause delays for all travelers

Fully vaccinated people or people who have had Covid-19 in the last six months do not need to quarantine. People still need to be tested at the border. The police already have them at the busiest border crossings long queues.

- I would like to shout a little warning and say that everyone should be prepared for queues if you leave Norway and come back. We would also like to encourage people to think twice before traveling, and remind them that the government has advised against any travel that is not strictly necessary until July 1st. Entrance checks are extensive, questions related to regulations and quarantine hotels take a long time and cause delays for all travelers, says Police Directorate Emergency Director Tone Vangen.

Many travelers do not have the necessary documentation or have not completed the mandatory entry registration

The border police are in a very difficult situation and the staff is doing everything in their power. Many travelers do not have the necessary documentation or have not completed the mandatory entry registration. Comprehensive entry controls are designed to prevent infections from being imported into Norway and to prevent further social closure.

"Anyone traveling now must read the terms and conditions in advance, make sure they have the necessary documentation ready, and register 72 hours in advance," says Vangen.
