The man died from his injuries on Monday, police confirm

"He had a serious head injury and unfortunately his life was not saved," says Knut Nandrup, head of the Oslo Police Special Law section.

A sharp increase in the number of accidents

The number of accidents has increased dramatically in the capital electric scooters. In 2020, 1331 accidents involving electric scooters were recorded in Oslo, up from 764 the year before.

Norwegia she has already had two fatal accidents related to the use of electric scooters. The first took place in September 2020, when a 40-year-old man died in an accident on a pedestrian and bicycle path in Finnfjordbotn in the municipality of Senja.

The second fatal case took place at Rykkinn in Bærum in November, when a man in his sixties fell on an electric scooter and died.

One of the survivors of a serious electric scooter accident is Suzanne Aabel, who she broke two legs after falling. She described the pain  as "terrible, unbearable and constant" and stated that she would never ride an electric scooter again.
