The world's tallest wooden building is still in Norway in Brumunddal. The structure has been recognized as one of the best structures in the world. Mjøstårnet is an 85,4 meter wooden building with 18 floors, which is by far the tallest wooden building in the world. The building enjoyed and still enjoys great international recognition. At the end of May, the building was recognized as one of the best structures in the world by the renowned skyscraper organization Concil on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). This award shows that Norwegian experience in the use of wood in large structures is world-class.

The knowledge behind this construction is being awarded a prestigious international award

- Imagine that the tallest wooden building in the world is located in Norway, and the knowledge behind this construction is being awarded a prestigious international award. Norwegian knowledge of wood has to go out into the world, says Olaug Bollestad, Minister of Agriculture and Food.

The national target of innovative and sustainable wooden solutions in construction has contributed to the growth of competences

Mjøstårnet has been between the E2019 and Mjøsa road since its completion in 6. A small wooden town grows around this tower. Like Mjøstårnet, several inland companies develop other buildings. Currently, a six-story office building called Mjøskanten has been built. The national target of innovative and sustainable wooden solutions in construction has contributed to the growth of competences. This competence is evident in many new buildings in large parts of the country. At Innlandet, developers, the industry and other competence circles have jointly set the standards for breakthrough innovations. Innovation Norway supports innovation in the use of wood by: www.innovasjonnorge.no/tre
