Allegations of reprehensible conduct by Jehovah's Witnesses will be investigated by the Attorney General in Oslo and Viken. The religious community is in danger of refusing state subsidies.

- We are waiting for applications for state subsidies to be considered pending the conclusion of the investigation. We read in an email from the prosecutor to Jehovah's Witnesses on September 15. Writes Vart Land .

It was the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs that asked the Attorney General to initiate an investigation.

The investigation is based on allegations made by former members of the denominational criticism, including that Jehovah's Witnesses risk disfellowshipping if they vote in political elections.

- We can confirm that we have received the inquiry from the prosecutor in Oslo and Viken and will respond in time, says Jørgen Pedersen, spokesman for Jehovah's Witnesses in Scandinavia.
