Unemployment benefits
- If your unemployment benefit and severance pay period has expired, it will automatically be extended until October 31, 2021.
- If you are receiving unemployment benefits, the rate will continue to be calculated according to the special rule that will result in a higher unemployment benefit payment.
- You can work 60 percent of your normal working hours during the reporting period and still receive reduced unemployment benefits
Sickness benefit
From October 1, the employer sick pay reimbursement program will be interrupted for days 4-16 when sickness absence is caused by COVID-19. The program now only applies to sick leave, which starts before October 1.
Care allowance
- kindergarten or school is closed due to coronavirus

Other programs valid until the end of the year
- Payment holiday unemployment benefit for peoplewho received unemployment benefits in 2020.
- Simplified determination of normal working hours when applying for unemployment benefits
- Admitted apprentices who were awarded unemployment benefits on a special basis before October 1, 2021 may keep their unemployment benefits until the end of the year if they have not reached the maximum period before.
- Exemption from the obligation to be present in person for a medical certificate.
- Income from commissioned and voluntary services in the health care system in connection with the corona pandemic, obtained before January 1, 2022, is not subject to income reduction for people with a pension contract (AFP) from the public sector.
