Labor leader Jonas Gahr Støre says there are still some misunderstandings in the government negotiations, but it should be possible to end them in a week.

- It should be possible. But we haven't set a date yet, Støre said when he arrived at Hotel Hurdalsjøen on Monday morning.

While party leaders left Hurdalsjøen on Thursday, other people from both parties continued to work to find a common policy and work on it together over the weekend. The aim is to top it off with a government declaration that will be presented within a week at the earliest.

- Of course, there are some points of contention again, says Støre.

"We have not set a date when we will finish, but Vedum and I agree it will not take longer than necessary," says the leader of the Labor Party.

Vedum: - Good progress

Sp leader Trygve Slagsvold Vedum arrived at the hotel a little later than Støre in his big diesel car. The press was crowding around him so that he was having trouble parking.

- I think we are going in the right direction and we are making good progress in the negotiations.

He also plans to stay at the hotel for the next few days.

Mysterious about office positions

On Monday, party leaders will first discuss the work done this weekend with their colleagues before sitting down to discuss.

- Now we will deal with all the topics. We will have an overview of all the work that has been done this weekend, most of which we have written. And then we'll decide together. This is Støre.

He was asked if they were in the process of discussing positions in the Cabinet and replied the following:

- We talk a little about everything all the time. I don't think I can report this now. The most important thing is the platform, says Støre.

- Has the number of ministers been distributed?

- No.

Vedum has also not disclosed whether the work on filling the posts is ongoing.

- These are important issues that we are working on now. I am absolutely sure that we will also be able to get a good split between the Center Party and the Labor Party on this, he says to the NTB.

Government negotiations between the Labor Party and the Center Party began on Wednesday last week. Earlier, SV also participated in the negotiations, but the party decided to withdraw before the end of the negotiations.
