According to the Norwegian Statistical Office (SSB), the number of vacancies on the labor market is constantly growing.

After a record year last year with over 100 vacancies in all quarters of the year, we are now seeing further growth. In the first quarter there were 000 thous. vacancies.

- Number of job vacancies remains at a high level and we are seeing growth in the first quarter of the year. A large number of vacancies may indicate that companies cannot find the right skills to fill the advertised positions, says Tonje Køber, head of the labor market and wages section.

Statistical data from the Norwegian Statistical Office shows the availability of vacancies at a given point in the quarter, not the availability of new positions during the quarter.

Increase in vacancies

If we compare the unadjusted number of vacancies with the same quarter last year, vacancies increased by 30%. This is a large increase that should be interpreted with caution due to the increase in uncertainty.
