The Storting opens
Today, the 166th Storting is officially opened. It takes place from 13.00 p.m. At the inaugural meeting this weekend, Eva Kristin Hansen (A) was elected president of the Storting.
24 coronavirus infections were registered in Norway in the last 287 hours.
That's 22 less than the same day last week. An average of 432 coronavirus infections were recorded daily in the last seven days. The corresponding average seven days ago was 514. So far, around 332 Norwegians, or 000 percent of the population, have been infected with the coronavirus, estimates the National Institute of Public Health.
October 11 takes place in Norway. Health Minister Bent Høie (H) says the government could have better reached immigrants with information about the coronavirus.
- We could have been better at reaching out with information. We could work even earlier with younger parents whose parents come from an immigrant background, says Høie. He points to first-generation immigrants who may not know Norwegian or do not follow Norwegian media.
Snowfall on mountain passes in the south, warns the management of the Norwegian Road Administration
On Monday morning, the first snow of the season reached the Haukelifjell Pass in Telemark and Sognefjellet. Telemarksavisa writes that the Norwegian State Roads Authority is warning drivers to cross the mountain on the E134 road over Haukelifjell.
