Every day in Norway, several hundred people over the age of 18 receive the first dose of the vaccine. According to the FHI data, 91% of all women and men over the age of 18 have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the vaccine,

More than 4,1 million people received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine

To date, more than 4,1 million people (4) have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 190 people received two doses, according to the SYSVAK National Immunization Register.

- The efforts that the municipalities have made and are still making in the work to protect the population against disease are enormous - says Geir Bukholm, deputy director of the National Institute of Public Health.

Many people are still getting the first dose of the coronary vaccine

The data show that just over 3200 people were receiving the second dose each day in October. Also, about 350 people 18 years of age or older received their first Covid-19 vaccine each day.

"The fact that there are still many who are now receiving the first dose of the vaccine shows that it takes time to reach anyone who wants to take advantage of the offer," says Bukholm.

There are many reasons why some residents are only now getting vaccinated

From discussions with the municipalities, it appears that there are many reasons why some residents are only now starting to vaccinate. Some are afraid of side effects and wanted to wait for more information. There are also those who are worried about the crowd, infection or fear of injections. At the same time, there are those who have not yet taken the vaccine due to work, lack of time. Some people do not want to be vaccinated or have to wait because they are pregnant.

Everyone who wants to get vaccinated will have the opportunity to do so.

“Covid-19 vaccination will be on offer this 2021 and 2022. We want to make sure that anyone who wants to get vaccinated has this opportunity. In addition, an extension of the recommendations will be considered in the coming period, if necessary. Booster doses are also considered, says Geir Bukholm, deputy director of the National Institute of Public Health.
