On Friday, the national competence environment regarding hate crimes was launched. The police want to reduce this problem across the country.
A new competence environment has been added to the criminal group in cases where hatred is the result of attacks. It will be in the Oslo Police District and is intended to provide help and field advice to all police districts. The inauguration was posted on Facebook pages of the Oslo Police , Jan Thomas Østervold spoke.
Through an environment of competence, the police want to reduce the risk, and the goal is for those at risk to see a competent police force, no matter which country the person lives in, says Oslo Police Chief Beate Gangås.
- Hatred is a social problem and everyone has a duty to take the reported situations seriously. The police will do their part of the job. It is not the victim who is responsible for the consequences of the crimes committed against hate - it's a social responsibility, says Gangås.
