Health Director Bjørn Guldvog says he will recommend new national measures on the coronavirus due to rising infection rates and increasing pressure on the healthcare system.
The number of both infected and hospitalized with the coronavirus has increased recently. In the last 24 hours, 1532 infections were registered in Norway, while the number of coronavirus patients admitted to Norwegian hospitals on Tuesday was 187.
The health director tells NRK he is recommending new national remedies.
- Now we can see that the statistics have shot up and soon it will affect the planned activity in hospitals. Therefore, it is necessary to go through the entire chain of measures and see if we can adjust it a bit, says Guldvog.
There will be no closure of Norway
He says it's not about going back to closure as it was, but rather that there will be some measures to prevent contamination from so much.
Of the measures that may be reasonable. Guldvog believes there may be some random tests at the border and measures against unvaccinated workers health servicewho have contact with patients.

On Monday, Health Minister Ingvild Kjerkol (Labour Party) told NTB that the government was closely monitoring the situation with Norwegian Directorate of Health and FHI, and are considering several actions on an ongoing basis.
There are still big differences in terms of infections and the burden hospitals experience in their intensive care units. This means that the introduction of strict national measures at present is not proportionate, says Kjerkol.
"Strengthening entry registration, border checks, entry testing, quarantine and further measures for unvaccinated upon entry into Norway are being considered," says Kjerkol.
