LO leader Peggy Hessen Følsvik is demanding that the government change the situation and provide the unemployed with holiday pay next year.

Følsvik will deliver a clear message to Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Labor) when they meet at the conference on Wednesday.

- I can confirm that in my speech to Gol I will demand the restoration of holiday pay from unemployment benefits as a permanent system. And it has to happen now. The crisis has hit this year and bills are not taking time off, Følsvik tells VG.

The LO leader is backed by two of the most powerful LOs, Fellesforbundet and Fagforbundet. All three form a united front against the government.

Fellesforbundet leader Jørn Eggum believes he will "bankrupt completely" if the current government fails to get things done.

– We have no patience for games and tactics. We just don't accept it. Salaries must be included in this budget leave for benefits for the unemployed, says FriFagbevegelse.

Leader relationship Mette Nord believesthat the matter could be resolved with Covid funds.

- Holiday pay has been reintroduced as a temporary solution through these funds. I understand that it is difficult to rebuild your entire budget in 25 days and that it is complicated. However, this is such an important measure that extending it with money from the crisis is a good way to tackle it, he says.
