There were long lines at the border station in Svinesund on Friday morning as all travelers have to be tested for coronavirus and omicron infection when entering Norway.
- It's a good move now, says leader Jostein Stø from the International Test Center in Svinesund to the NTB at 11.30 am on Friday.
From midnight, the order came again, that all travelers must be tested for coronavirus in on the way to Norway. There was an immediate congestion at by far the busiest border crossing on the E6 in Svinesund.
- There are a lot of queues at the moment. So we're giving you some offers with the possibility of testing yourself at home within 24 hours to ease the long wait a bit. The regulations say that you should not spend more than an hour and a half in the test area. Nevertheless, it does take time, says Stø.

Stø says that buses also come, we implement quick tests for 20-30 people at the same time, these people have to wait 15 minutes after the test for the result.
Those who test positive must go into isolation. People who have a home address in Norway may return home to remain in isolation. While people without a place of residence are accommodated in hotels.
"If there's an infection on the bus, we are responsible for transporting everyone to an isolation hotel," says Stø.
