BELGIUM. OPPONENTS OF THE OBJECTIONS PROTEST IN BRUSSELS

Belgian police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse some violent protesters in Brussels, where several thousand other non-violent protesters protested against new measures related to the coronavirus.

Before the weekend, the Belgian authorities presented new measures and restrictions for the third week in a row. The background is a massive wave of infection that is putting pressure on the healthcare system.

Among other things, kindergartens and primary schools must close one week before the start of Christmas, a school-age children up to six years of age they must now wear face masks. The government earlier closed nightclubs and asked bars and restaurants to close at 23 p.m.

Among the slogans in Sunday's protest was "Freedom", and some protesters also carried messages critical of vaccination.

Among the slogans in Sunday's protest was "Freedom", and some protesters also carried messages critical of vaccination. According to the first estimates of the police, about 8000 people took part in the march.

Strict rules

Two weeks ago, 35 people took part in an anti-coronavirus demonstration in Belgium, which also ended in clashes between protesters and security forces.
