Solid craftsman or serious problems?

The new campaign will help consumers choose reliable and serious craftsmen when building or renovating. Serious craftsmen benefit consumers, the construction industry and society.

The cooperation partners behind the campaign are public agencies, entities operating in professional life, the construction industry, the real estate agency industry, the financial industry and organizations working for consumers.

The aim of the campaign is to reduce the demand for “junk” work in the construction industry. Together, the partners have created a guide to help consumers choose artisans safely, seriously and profitably.

The choice of artisans is very important

The construction industry believes that the importance of choosing a solid workforce is at the center of attention.

– The choice of artisans is very important to ensure the values inherent in the home. Experienced and qualified craftsmen help in the proper execution of the work. Changes to the Disposal Act that came into effect earlier this year mean that a homeowner must be able to document all work done on the home on the day the home is sold - the documentation now has a direct impact on the sale price. The price of a house increases if it can be documented that the work was carried out by skilled workers, says Marianne W. Røiseland, managing director of Pipe Contractors Norway, on behalf of trade associations.

Choosing serious craftsmen ensures that the work is done properly

By working with a serious workforce, you not only reap a range of personal benefits, you also contribute to a healthy and balanced working life through fair play and good working conditions.

“We know that the vast majority of people want to do the right thing, but many people find it difficult to find the information and tools to ensure they choose good craftsmen. Selecting serious craftsmen ensures that the work is done properly, while helping to reduce the scope for the non-serious craftsmen. This helps to create a working life with fair competition by ensuring that taxes and all fees are paid. You can be sure that the craftsman has the right working conditions, that there is no fraud, social dumping or crime in working life, says Tax Director Nina Schanke Funnemark.

Tettpa – Guide

Tettpa is one of the measures in the government's action plan against social dumping and workplace crime. Most home and holiday home buyers in the country will be provided with information about the guide Tettpawhich will be sent as soon as the property is registered.
