“Fraudsters trick women into providing their BankID and then wipe out their accounts. There are many indications that the fraudsters are Norwegians. They know Norway, Norwegian conditions and how the bank and its clients work. Both the bank and the police are already involved in solving this case. Scammers call, for example, Olga, impersonating someone employees of a serious company financial. They inform the caller that her consumer loan is ready for collection. When Olga replies that she didn't apply for a loan, they tell her that in that case she must contact the bank. Then they offer to redirect the call to the bank, which the deceived woman obviously accepts, not realizing that she is not connected to any bank. – says Fjeldvær.
