Trondheim Municipality has decided to amend the recommendations for children in its guide to sports, culture and leisure activities. It will no longer be the case that yellow school children will have to behave differently from green school children.
The reason for the change is:
- Recommendation on restrictions related to children in Yellow level schools have created significant challenges for how it can be understood and implemented.
- Children in yellow-level schools who have undergone COVID-19 have experienced a reduction in leisure activities due to the wording in the guide for which there is no scientific basis.
Recommendations at the local level
In this context, the medical advisers in the municipality re-examined the guide and recommended that the recommendation on the restriction for pupils in yellow schools be withdrawn.

The municipality sees that the remaining recommendations (below) will largely ensure adequate infection control and recommends that leaders of various sports, cultural and recreational activities make these recommendations clear:
- Children and adults living with an infected person are advised to avoid participating in social or recreational activities. This applies for 7 days from the time the infected person develops symptoms or is diagnosed with an infection, regardless of whether you have been vaccinated or have symptoms.
- Anyone who is sick with symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, headache, lethargy, impaired sense of smell or taste, muscle aches or a sore throat should not participate in recreational activities. If Covid-19 infection is suspected, it is important to test yourself and refer to information about the coronavirus .
- Provide athletes, trainers / instructors and the public with good access to wash / disinfect their hands.
