Certain lots of Norganic AS 'Organic Manna Chickpeas' and 'Organic Chickpeas' are being withdrawn from the market after live insects are found.
Packages that are being recalled. These are bags weighing 5 and 25 kilograms that have been sold to large household companies, independent stores across the country and private individuals via the Økoland.no online store.
The recall is due to the discovery of live insects.
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority informs about the case on its website.
- It is also undesirable to spread pests living on legumes. The insect species is said to be possibly subtropical / tropical and would not normally survive in the Norwegian outdoor environment.
Consumers who have purchased the product are asked to freeze it (-20 degrees) at least one day before throwing it into organic waste or burning / destroying the product.
