More and more people suffer from skeletal problems. The causes are usually attributed to an inappropriate lifestyle (alcohol, cigarettes, lack of exercise), inappropriate diet and environmental pollution. Nowadays, we encounter this problem not only among older people, but even worse among... children and adolescents.

Regeneration

Throughout life, bone tissue undergoes constant loss and constant reconstruction. This is her natural process. In healthy bone, cells called osteoblasts remove old tissue and replace it with a new bone matrix made of proteins, mainly collagen. Proper mineralization should give them adequate hardness. Complete cell replacement occurs within 6 years. By depriving our body of minerals, the bones become soft and deform.

Effect of calcium

The proper functioning of the body requires a relatively constant level of calcium in the blood. When it is depleted in the long term, the body takes it from the bones. Constant use of reserves causes a gradual loss of bone mass and, consequently, osteoporosis.

What does that really mean? That if you are driving incorrectly, your body does not turn on the stop button, it is working all the time, it has to be working all the time. Therefore, it will be picking up from the warehouse all the time, until you start taking care of yourself.

What symptoms may appear that would indicate defects in the skeletal system?

In the initial stage, osteoporosis is completely asymptomatic. We do not feel pain or any other changes in the body then. The first signals that should pay attention to the condition of the bones are:

- pain in joints and bones, especially in the thigh bones, tibia and feet,

- weakness of muscle groups, most often occurs in the parts of the body where the changes in the bones are greatest,

- weight loss,

- difficulty moving,

- lack of appetite,

- increase in the level of alkaline phosphatase (blood tests),

- acidosis and glucosuria,

- deformations of the spine, chest and pelvis,

- pathological bone fractures,

- a visible increase in the number of osteoblasts (bone biopsy).

The end result, and at the same time the most dangerous, is the fragility of the bones. When this happens, it means that the skeletal system has lost many of the essential minerals, especially calcium. Bones are so easy to break and difficult to heal.

Bone mass

In order to maintain or restore bone mass density, it is most often recommended to administer a targeted supplementation, increase the consumption of milk and cheese. Unfortunately, such treatment rarely brings the expected results. This is because calcium is not normally absorbed into the bones.

Calcium

In its functions in the body, calcium works with phosphorus, magnesium, iron, vitamins A, C, D3, and K2. For example, vitamin D3 supports the absorption of calcium salts, and vitamin K2 activates proteins necessary for the transport of calcium in the body. It is enough that the body lacks vitamin K2 for calcium not only to not be absorbed into the bones, but also to be deposited in the arteries, causing atherosclerosis.
