There is a need for more grain raw materials and protein crops that we can grow and use in Norway.
Increasing the share of food cereals by 2030
The Norwegian Food Grain and Vegetable Protein Partnership (Matkornpartnerskapet) will increase the use of Norwegian Food Grain and Vegetable Protein in food.
The goal is to increase the share of Norwegian food grains from 50% today to 90% by 2030.
Strengthening interaction, effort and expertise
The partnership is a binding collaboration between all actors in the value chain and was established in the summer of 2021. The aim is to strengthen the interaction, effort and expertise in innovation and research and development on Norwegian food grains and vegetable proteins for food. Graminor's role in the partnership is to develop hardy grain varieties that are suitable for growing in Norway. We also contribute by testing varieties of beans and peas that may be suitable for cultivation and use in Norway.
