Organized by the Institute for Eastern Studies Foundation, the Economic Forum is undoubtedly the most important annual conference in Central and Eastern Europe. It is a place where concrete solutions and innovative ideas are proposed. The Economic Forum has been connecting East and West for thirty years, and its international dimension makes it possible to replace stereotypes with facts and form opinions based on a substantive exchange of views. The strength of the brand of the Karpacz Economic Forum is also evidenced by its key guests, numerous participants and the greatest media interest in Poland.

On September 6, 2022, the XXXI edition of the Forum will begin.

This year, the participants will once again visit the Gołębiewski Hotel in Karpacz. The conferences under the slogan "Europe facing new challenges" will last three days. The motto is not accidental. The world has struggled with the severe effects of the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years. The situation in the eastern part of Europe, however, sidelined issues such as vaccine distribution and harmonization of certification rules.

The eyes of the entire free world are now turned to Ukraine, which is experiencing aggression from Russia. The war in Europe creates a new balance of power and may affect the fate of the entire continent. The situation prompts reflection on the measures that should be taken to ensure the security of EU Member States. Moreover, the issue of unifying the migration policy becomes noteworthy due to the number of refugees arriving at the borders of the EU countries.

Diversifying energy sources and reducing dependence on raw materials from Russia has become a challenge for European economies. The "Fit for 55" project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve climate neutrality. This is an extremely important issue for future generations, but one that may have dire economic, political and, paradoxically, environmental consequences.

The community must therefore answer fundamental questions about Europe's position on the international stage and shaping the world together after the pandemic.

During this year's edition of the Economic Forum in Karpacz, over three hundred debates with the participation of over 4000 guests will be organized. Thematic paths will focus on issues such as security, energy and international politics, in particular Ukraine.

In addition to the program of events, there will be a wide range of cultural and recreational activities. Conference participants will have the opportunity to see the presentations of the region's tourist attractions, as well as taste the regional cuisine.

During the event, the 5th edition of the Report of the Warsaw School of Economics and the Economic Forum will be presented, which is a scientific study on the state of the economy and Poland in 2022 and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

As every year, the Program Council will also award prizes in the following categories: Man of the Year, Company of the Year and Non-governmental Organization of the Year.
