Police are asking people to be extra careful after receiving several reports of GPS theft from trucks, tractors and construction machinery in Agder in recent days.

“We want to warn about thefts and inform about what companies can do to protect their values,” says Eirik Berg Thorsrud, a business contact in the Agder Police District. He adds that information on this matter has also been sent to companies in Agder.

This week GPS devices were reported stolen from 11 different Volvo trucks in Birkenes. Thefts from construction and agricultural machinery also occurred in Grimstad and Farsund.

They steal GPSs from trucks, tractors and equipment from construction machines

– Criminals steal GPS equipment from trucks, tractors and equipment from construction machinery, mainly at night. Devices are stolen for resale. This is expensive equipment and we want businesses to be prepared and able to help prevent crime as well, says Thorsrud.
