NRK is the most popular workplace before Røkkes Aker BP and IT consulting firms Sopra Steria.

A labor market survey by Randstad HR and recruitment company shows that NRK is a company where most Norwegians want to work in the country.

This is the third time that Randstad has conducted such a survey and NRK is at the forefront every year.

. High variability

The remainder of the list shows a great variety of companies from a variety of industries. While last year's Randstad Employer Brand Research survey characterized companies from the oil and gas industry, now the top 20 includes both the IT industry, salmon farming, tourism, and large traditional companies such as Norsk Hydro and Vinmonopolet.

The year of coronavirus has not improved in areas where there has been a shortage of candidates in the past. The IT and health sectors are examples of subject areas where recruitment is still very demanding. Of course, companies saw this many years ago, so being attractive to applicants is more important than ever, says Eivind Bøe, Randstad CEO.

More loyal

Although Norwegians have companies they prefer us to work for, the study shows that employees feel more loyal to their employer than ever before. Two out of three employees respond to the survey that they have gained more loyalty.

Considering that retention is better than hiring new ones, that's positive, says Bøe, while asking employers to be vigilant.

- As we approach the end of the pandemic, employees will once again look for new challenges beyond their own workplace. At Randstad, we expect record activity in the job search market in the next few months, he says.
