In Norway, traditional dishes such as “lapskaus” or “fårikål” are often served on Saturdays. However, when it comes to delicacies, one of the most popular is "vafler", i.e. waffles. This is a simple and delicious dish that can be served warm or cold with various additions such as jams, cream, powdered sugar or maple syrup.

Here is the recipe for Norwegian waffles:

Ingredients:

3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups of wheat flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cups of milk
pinch of salt

. Preparation:

Separate the whites from the yolks and beat the whites with salt until stiff.
In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks with the sugar and beat until light in color.
Add the flour and baking powder to the bowl with the yolks, mix.
Add melted butter and milk, mix thoroughly.
Add the whipped foam and mix gently.
Preheat the waffle iron and grease it with butter or oil.
Put a spoonful of dough in the center of the waffle iron and close it.
Bake the wafers for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Repeat until you've used up all the dough.

Serve hot or cold with your favorite toppings. Enjoy your meal!
