We are on strike because NHO has not made an offer that would give our members more reason to cheer.
LO's demands in the negotiations were as follows:
- Increased members' purchasing power
- An extra push for low-wage groups, many of whom are women
- Settlement should contribute to smaller differences
Our goal in the negotiations was to give all our members more say. We were particularly keen to ensure that members of low-paying occupations received an additional raise. The task of the supervisory board was to provide members with increased purchasing power. Accounting should also contribute to reducing disparities between different groups of workers.
Those who earn the least will fare badly
The proposed proposal would not improve the purchasing power of large groups of LO members. That's why we said no. Low-wage groups would fare badly, and we couldn't agree to that.
During the mediation, we did not reach a level that would meet our requirements.
Crown and øre, not percentages
LO never negotiates a percentage increase in purchasing power. We negotiate in crowns and øre. The percentages we call the framework are just a summary of the numbers, they don't give a true picture of how the raise was given and to whom. Therefore, it was important for LO that the crown allowance was a significant part of the total framework. Then we'll give everyone a pay raise.

General strike from Monday
The mediation between LO and NHO has broken down and around 23 LO members will go on strike from Monday at 000. The strike will intensify on Friday.
NHO is solely responsible for this strike. Our main demand was to increase the purchasing power of all our members. NHO was not willing to comply. Top managers have given themselves big pay raises, but they choose to eat Norwegian workers with crumbs, says Peggy Hessen Følsvik, and assures: "We are ready to go on strike as long as necessary."

“NHO member companies seem to have forgotten that the most important precondition for value creation is employees,” says Nyberg.
The main postulate was to ensure an increase in purchasing power, counteract low wages and prioritize equal pay. Employees must contribute to value creation.
Strike from Monday at 06.00
Many companies are doing very well and profits are high. Norwegian companies have sky-high profits.
The first strike will result in a strike by around 500 members of the offshore companies Beerenberg and Bilfinger, which mainly deal with insulation, scaffolding and surface treatment. While this does not have a direct security impact, it can have serious economic consequences. In addition, work on the preparation of cars supplied by Harald A. Møller will be largely stopped, and large hotels in Oslo will operate on a very limited basis.
The media company Schibsted will lose access to many back-office functions and Felleskjøpet Agri SA may have to close many of its stores, from Bodø in the north to Halden in the south.
Friday's escalation will mean that Remy stores will not be replenished with goods, further stores at Felleskjøpet Agri SA will have to close and parcels sent by PostNord will not arrive.
As of Monday, April 17, around 600 IKEA employees are also going on strike.
