“More energy-efficient windows are a good climate measure because they reduce heat loss from your home, so you use less electricity,” says Marie Elise Aarrestad Aakre from the climate and environment department.

2,5 million has been allocated from the Stavanger Municipal Climate Fund to support windows for houses located in “Trehusbyen” or other conservation areas and all houses built in 1900 or earlier. Each household can receive up to NOK 15 in support.

– If there are more applications than reserved funds, a lottery will be conducted among the applicants – says Aarrestad Aakre.

Read more about which homes are eligible and find the application form on this page.

When can you get support?

If the house has original windows, you can get support for their renovation and energy efficiency. Support will not be provided for the replacement of original windows in older houses as they have a high cultural and historical value. If your home does not have the original windows, you may be able to get a grant for new, more energy-efficient windows in the original style of your home.

The application deadline is August 20. If you receive a positive response to your application, you must consult with Byantikvaren to ensure that your window upgrade complies with conservation guidelines, and you must have Byantikvaren's statement of the work done before you receive your money.

Here you are applying for support for the replacement or modernization of windows in your home worth maintenance.
