On Thursday, October 26, representatives of the Storting are invited to dinner at the Palace. With a few exceptions, it has been a regular, annual event since 1906.

The first such meeting took place in 1906. Since then, according to the website of the royal house, it has been a regular, annual event - except for 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the years of World War II and when general maintenance works were carried out, which made this meeting impossible.

The castle dinner takes place in the Great Dining Room, and the approximately 225 guests include many representatives of the Norwegian public.

The rhythm and essence of the dinner is the same as in the old days, however - informs the royal house - the menu is no longer exclusively in French, as it was in the first years, and cigars are no longer served after the meal.
