– It is very important that every resident Norway had access to the Internet enabling the use of digital services. In times when there are fewer people of working age and more people in need of social support, we must succeed in implementing new technologies and digital solutions. The first step is to give people access to high-speed internet, says Nkom director Pål Wien Espen.

The national coverage survey data that Nkom is presenting today shows that 100 Mbit/s coverage has increased from 93,6 percent. in 2022 to 96,6 percent in 2023. The largest increase in coverage occurs in rural areas, but it was also a positive development in densely built-up areas. However, there are differences between counties. Oslo and Rogaland are in the best position, while Innlandet and Nordland are slightly behind.
