Bergen Municipality has made a Covid-19 immunization agreement with 36 pharmacies located in different counties. Pharmacies will begin vaccinations on Monday, January 17. Pharmacies from all districts of Bergen take part in the cooperation.
Hoping to increase vaccination coverage
- Thanks to pharmacies, we can further strengthen the vaccine offer in Bergen. We believe that the immunization offer in the neighborhoods will contribute to increasing the vaccination coverage in Bergen. I especially encourage more people who have not started immunization to take advantage of this opportunity. Everyone is welcome at pharmacies as well as at municipal vaccination points, says Beate Husa, city councilor for the elderly, health and volunteering.
- Several residents, especially the oldest age group, expressed the opinion that they wanted the vaccine in their own district. We hope that the offer in pharmacies will make even more residents get a refreshing dose - says Elisabeth Engelsen, head of the vaccine project.
- I think many people will easily accept the vaccine in the pharmacy. This, in turn, could lead to more people taking it. Pharmacies are very motivated to do this and are looking forward to contributing, says subject manager Hanne Andresen of the Pharmaceutical Association.
Different opening hours
Anyone over the age of 16 who meets the requirements for the minimum dose interval can get the vaccine from next week at one of 36 pharmacies. All pharmacies are located in Arna, Bergenhus, Fana, Fyllingsdalen, Laksevåg, Ytrebygda, Årstad and Åsane. This is true regardless of what dose the residents should be in.
Pharmacies have different opening hours and different vaccination opportunities each day. On our website residents will find an overview of pharmacies that offer the Covid-19 vaccine. In the week before the start, we will be constantly posting links to visits to pharmacies. Each pharmacy will also inform you about opening hours and the possibility of entry.
Agreement on vaccination against Covid-19 with pharmacies
Pharmacies also take care of the filing and registration of vaccinations in SYSVAK, thanks to which vaccination certificates of residents are updated.
Vaccination in pharmacies is a complement to vaccinations performed at municipal points, u primary care doctors and in other municipal health care facilities.
