Up to 500.000 Crowns for the Purchase of Electric Bicycles for Randaberg Residents

The municipality of Randaberg, known for its innovative approach to ecology and public health, has announced a new financial support program for people interested in purchasing electric bikes. This initiative, aimed at promoting ecological means of transport and supporting the local community, attracts the attention of residents and environmentalists.

Randaberg Electric Bicycle Support Program

Purpose of the Program

The program introduced by the Randaberg municipality, in cooperation with the company Kolorus, aims to distribute a total of NOK 500.000 to support residents in purchasing electric bicycles. This initiative is part of the municipality's broader efforts to achieve the zero emission growth goal, in line with the Nord-Jæren Urban Development Agreement. The key element here is reducing the numbers cars on the road and promoting electric bicycles as an alternative.

Conditions for Obtaining Support

Residents of the Randaberg commune can benefit from the program as long as they purchase an electric bike within a certain period. Support is up to 10.000 crowns and cannot exceed 50% of the value bicycle. Applications will be accepted until December 8, and if there are more applicants than available funds, a drawing will be held.

Bente Monica Reilstad, public health coordinator for the municipality of Randaberg, highlights the benefits of using e-bikes. On the one hand, there are health benefits because riding an electric bike is a form of physical activity. On the other hand, bicycles electric help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to the implementation of the municipality's ecological goals.

Cooperation with Local Sellers

The program facilitates the purchase of electric bikes through cooperation with local retailers such as Sykkelsenteret and Sport 1 Randaberg. Thanks to this, residents can benefit from a direct discount when purchasing, without having to apply for a refund from the municipality.

Conditions for receiving Support

People who receive support are obliged to keep their electric bike for a minimum of three years. Support may be withdrawn if it is provided on inappropriate grounds.

 

The Randaberg Municipality's initiative is a step forward towards a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle. By supporting the purchase of electric bicycles, the commune promotes ecological means of transport, contributing to reducing air pollution and improving the health of residents. This program shows how local authorities can actively support ecological initiatives and a healthy lifestyle of their residents.
