Snow in Norway. Will Christmas be white?

The coastal area of the southern and western part of Norway has not remembered the real winter for a long time, because by definition this area never has it. Climatic winter occurs when normal daytime temperatures are below 0 degrees Celsius. In these regions, hot air from the Atlantic keeps the temperature largely above freezing. The weather is different, and its variability is observed from year to year. So there is always hope. Even in the city of Bergen, there is about a 30% chance, based on statistics from 1981-2010, that next Christmas will be cold and white, says senior meteorological researcher Lars Robert Hole.

Colder than usual

There was a clear change in the weather over the weekend, with cooler temperatures but still little snowfall. Forecasts of meteorological experts from MateoFrance suggest that this year in the northern part of Europe, a slightly colder winter than usual may occur.
