Joanna Kil had a great run this weekend, winning her first Continental Cup competition in Nordic combined, and then taking second place twice in subsequent competitions. Magdalena Łuczak showed a good performance in alpine skiing, and Magdalena Bańdo won the Czech Championship. In snowboarding, he achieved his best result this season Oskar Kwiatkowski. We still keep our fingers crossed for Polish athletes - as we read in the PZN press release.

Ski jumping. POLISH TOURNAMENT

The past week was full of many events in the world ski jumping. Our athletes competed in the World Cup, the Continental Cup and the Youth Winter Olympic Games, bringing home a medal from the last of the above-mentioned events.

Łukasz Łukaszczyk's 3rd place in YOG Gangwon 2024

Our young jumpers showed great performance during the Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympic Winter Games. In the individual boys' competition at the regular facility of the Alpensia Ski Jumping Center in Pyeongchang, Łukasz Łukaszczyk won the bronze medal. The 16-year-old was leading after the first series after a 105-meter attempt. In the finals, he flew even further, but ended with a fall of 108,5 meters. Despite very low scores for style, he managed to defend his place on the podium thanks to his impressive distance. Our second junior, Kacper Tomasiak, was ranked 7th, and at the halfway point he was in 2nd place.

Two Poles took part in the girls' competition. The best result was achieved by Pola Bełtowska, who took 14th place. 22nd place went to Sara Tajner. There was also a mixed team competition - Poland finished in 5th place, and in the unofficial individual classification the highest score was obtained by Kacper Tomasiak.

Before the last jump, coach Thomas Thurnbichler's players were only 3,2 points behind the third-placed Japanese. Dawid Kubacki's weaker attempt meant that we finished the competition in 6th place. We witnessed the best on Sunday individual competition performed by Poles this winter. After the first round, the fans' appetite was whetted by Aleksander Zniszczoł, who was slightly behind the podium and placed fourth.
