Police and road services warn drivers in the eastern part of Norway. Difficult road conditions are promised. Precipitation and low temperature will lead to a slippery road surface and difficult driving conditions.
Lots of snowfall
On Sunday evening it was already clear that the ski slopes in Oslo were covered with a good layer of snow. Up to 20 cm of snow is caused by rainfall from the east, which will occupy the entire part of the country on Monday. Along with rainfall, forecast heavy road conditions may occur, against which drivers are warned by the police and the road service.

Yellow warning
Meteorologist from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, Eldbjorg Moxnes reports that a lot of precipitation is caused by low pressure coming from the east. This is what the snowfall will bring in eastern Norway at the very beginning of the week, which will turn into rainfall here and there. Low temperature in combination with the above-mentioned rainfall does not mean anything good for drivers. We will face difficult road conditions, which will be strongly characterized by a slippery road surface. In particular, Fr. Aust-Agder, Telemark, Vestfold and Østfold.

Severe road conditions on a Monday night
Meteorologist Eldbjørg Moxnes, asks drivers to be especially careful on Monday night. If we cannot spend that day on the ski slope and enjoy a lot of snow, and we have a long journey ahead of us, it is worth postponing it until tomorrow. The Norwegian police also returns attention before longer journeys. Severe road conditions are not favorable for such routes, especially on Tuesday driving conditions they will be much better.
Norwegian skiing idyll
Even though tomorrow the weather will change to a milder one, skiing enthusiasts have nothing to worry about. Moxnes realizes that the snow will not melt that quickly and the Norwegian skiing idyll will last a good few days. Therefore, we encourage those who love this type of winter sport to spend their free time on the ski slope, and to put aside longer routes by car until tomorrow.
