All Norwegian border crossings will be opened on October 6

The government decided to open all border crossings to Norway from midnight on Wednesday 6 October. Since then, there has been a minor change for travelers who are required to prove themselves.

A rapid antigen test at a public testing facility should be performed as soon as possible

As a general rule, travelers who are required to test must continue to test at the border. If there is no testing station at the border or the testing station is closed, a rapid antigen test should be performed as soon as possible at a public testing station, no later than 24 hours after arrival. The change will take effect at midnight on the night before Wednesday, October 6.

People who do not have an approved vaccination certificate are, in principle, required to undergo the test

There will still be an obligation to carry out border tests at the border crossing points where the test station is located. This will apply, for example, to all airports with foreign traffic, in Svinesund and Storskog.

All Norwegian border crossings will be opened

People who do not have a validated digital crown certificate are generally required to undergo the test if they come from quarantine countries or areas.

The country's municipalities must be prepared for travelers who are required to check in within 24 hours of arrival. The municipalities are informed about this in a letter from the Norwegian Health Directorate.

More information on the practical possibilities of opening border crossings will be available at the weekend.
