Healthcare in Norway - who will help us?
The first contact we have with a doctor is dictated by our affiliation to a specific commune, or in the case of large ones cities like Oslo belonging to the district. The primary care doctor sends us to specialists - he is first personwith whom we discuss all matters related to our health. Illness - where to report it?
In the case of life threats, we can go to the hospital. If our life is not in danger, we must always first seek help from our general practitioner. Similarly the situation looks like this in case of addictions. The primary care physician is always the first door through which a patient must pass. Regardless of whether our physical or mental health is failing. This is worth remembering. A family doctor opens the way to specialist examinations and convalescence.
