Alcohol and tobacco amounts

When entering Norway, you can bring a duty-free limit on alcohol and tobacco.

Alcohol and tobacco must be within. The amount of alcohol quota depends on whether you will bring the tobacco or not. Amounts are per person. Beware of age restrictions.

Example 1: Alcohols, wine and beer

1 lytt of spirit, 3 liters of wine (4 bottles) and 2 liters of beer (6 x 0,33 l)

Example 2: Wine and beer

4,5 liters of wine (6 bottles) and 2 liters of beer (6 x 0,33 liters)

Example 3: Beer

6,5 liters of beer (19 x 0,33 l)
6,5 liters of beer (19 x 0,33 l)

Examples with tobacco

Example 1: Spirits, wine, beer and tobacco

1 liter of alcohol, 1,5 liters of wine (2 bottles) and 2 liters of beer (6 x 0,33 l)
+ 200 cigarettes or 250 g of other types of tobacco and 200 sheets of cigarette paper.

Example 2: Wine, Beer and Tobacco

3 liters of wine (4 bottles) and 2 liters of beer (6 x 0,33 liters)
+ 200 cigarettes or 250 g of other types of tobacco and 200 sheets of cigarette paper.
3 liters of wine (4 bottles) + 2 liters of beer (6 x 0,33 liters) + 200 cigarettes or 250 g of other types of tobacco and 200 sheets of tissue paper

Example 3: Beer and tobacco

5 liters of beer (15 x 0,33 l)
+ 200 cigarettes or 250 g of other types of tobacco and 200 sheets of cigarette paper.
5 liters of beer (15 x 0,33 l) + 200 cigarettes or 250 g of other types of tobacco and 200 sheets of tissue paper

Alcohol and tobacco limit

Alcohol and Tobacco Limit:

Rules for the exchange of alcohol and tobacco

  • The spirit limit can be exchanged for 1,5 liters of wine or beer / cider.
  • The volume of wine can be exchanged for equal amounts of beer / cider.
  • Wine and beer / cider cannot be exchanged for stronger drinks.
  • The amount of tobacco can be exchanged for 1,5 liters of wine or beer / cider. 
  • You can exchange the entire amount of tobacco for alcohol.
  • You cannot exchange alcohol for tobacco.

. Age limit

You must have at least 18 years old to bring beer, wine and tobacco products. You must be at least 20 years old to bring drinks over 22% alcohol.

. Exceeding quota amount

It is possible to contribute more than the amount. In this case, you must declare the amount that exceeds the limit.

Beverages with more than 60% alcohol content are prohibited

Import drinks with content alcohol exceeding 60% is prohibited.
