Stavanger is the third largest city. According to many travelers, it captivates with its appearance. First of all, they are attracted by renovated and painted white houses, paved roads, and the ubiquitous order. However, these are not the only advantages of this place. It is also a great starting point for nearby attractions.

Stavanger - surrounded by fjords

The city of Stavanger is situated right on the seafront. Already standing in the port, you can see the beauty of the Norwegian coast, which is full of fjords. When choosing this place as a starting point, you should ensure the best possible accommodation. Affordable prices in proven conditions can be found in the following facilities:

  • Stavanger Pop Up Hostel - the price per night is an expense of PLN 150 / person. Free car parking is available and an airport pick-up service is offered.
  • St. Svithun Vanderhjem - seemingly a better standard, but at the price of PLN 165 / person, you will get a place to stay in a room with strangers. Additionally, there are only rooms for men or women.

What to see around Stavanger?

The Stavanger area is primarily fjords. The most famous attractions are the Preikeskolen rock ledge and the Kjerag stone. It is one of those places that you must see. However, it is worth going early in the morning, so as not to stay overnight. The cheapest accommodation is around PLN 500 - we suggest you just leave the car in the parking lot and see as much as you can.

Troll tongue

Have you ever seen a troll's tongue? If not, you have the opportunity as long as you go to a place called "Trolltunga". Unfortunately, when you are in Stavanger, you should expect an expedition of over 4 hours. In this case, even leaving in the morning will not help at all - you should find some accommodation in the vicinity. You can find recommendable accommodation, e.g. in Trolltunga Guesthouse - for one night for two you will pay PLN 450 here.

Bergen

Stavanger can be a great base for exploring Norway. If you do not intend to overpay for accommodation, remember one thing - in this country the law called Allemansretten applies. It allows you to spend the night anywhere, as long as you put up your tent 150 meters from the nearest buildings. Traveling by hitch is also no problem.
