There are more and more speculations about the potential takeover of Norwegian Air by Lufthansa. The head of the Norwegian operator - Bjorn Kjos - officially confirmed that the German carrier had contacted us regarding this matter. In his opinion, the fact that there is great interest in taking over shares in norwegian Air on the international arena proves that they are heading in the right direction.
Not only Lufthansa
Lufthansa is not the only one interested in acquiring shares in Norwegian Air. The same efforts are made by the Spanish and British companies IAG (International Airline Group), which controls, among others, British Airways. According to Bjorn Kjos, this proves the good direction of development in which the Norwegian operator is heading. Stock exchange prices are also positive - shares of Norwegian Air only on Monday recorded a 10 percent increase and ended the day with a price of NOK 274 per share.
Raising the price
The discussion on the acquisition of Norwegian Air began after IAG confirmed in the spring that it controlled approximately 5 percent Norwegian shares operator and is ready to talk about a merger or takeover. Initially, Bjon Kjos was not willing to negotiate. But then the shares norwegian Air dropped from NOK 300 to NOK 250.
