The Polish School in Moss is recruiting students for the 2018/2019 school year

The Polish School in Moss was established in 2014 on the initiative of Izabela and Tomasz Bieliński, as well as their daughter Aleksandra Bielińska Podejko and Piotr Krauze and Żaneta Skabara, who no longer cooperate. It is a facility that conducts classes only on Saturdays. In addition to the standard curriculum, the school also offers extracurricular activities. Recruitment for the school year 2018/2019 is currently underway.

Polish School in Moss - how to apply?

In order to take part in the recruitment process for the Polish School in Moss, you should first download the personal questionnaire from the Barna Polen website (all documents are available for download >>> HERE <<<). The completed questionnaire should be completed and sent to the following e-mail address: [email protected]. The start of the year will take place on September 15, 2018 at 9:30 am in Vang skole.

Projects for the next school year

The Polish School in Moss participates in the European ERASMUS + project, in which also educational institutions from Great Britain, Spain, Belgium, Norway and the Methodological Center from Białystok participate. The main goal of this program is to increase the competences and knowledge of Polish diaspora teachers in the field of subject teaching methodology.

"Alpha and Omega"

The “Alpha and Omega” project allows you to obtain a certificate that is recognized by the Ministry of National Education in Poland. A platform is available from which you can download all necessary teaching aids. Due to the fact that classes at the Polish School in Moss take place only on Saturdays, parents play an important role in preparing students. It is worth trying to successfully complete the project, because the certificates obtained in this way entitle you to continue your education in Poland.

Language-adaptive class

The Polish School in Moss also offers the possibility of studying in a language-adaptive class. It is dedicated to children living in Norway who have never had the opportunity to learn Polish. The curriculum involves learning the language from scratch, and the first step is to acquire the alphabet. Students receive free textbooks and exercises, the purchase of which was financed from European Funds.

Activities

The facility also conducts additional classes in the form of optional interest circles. The offer for the 2018/2019 school year includes the following forms of classes: music, art, dance and gymnastic, historical, and chess groups. They start after the end of didactic lessons and each circle lasts one clock hour.

New: English for parents

The educational offer of the Polish School in Moss is also directed to adults. They have the opportunity to study English. Lessons will be conducted by Maciej Wojciechowski, who graduated in English philology with a specialization in applied linguistics, as well as a teacher training college of foreign languages.

100th Anniversary of Poland's Independence - celebrations

The Polish School in Moss also prepared a commemorative ceremony on November 11, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Poland's independence. On this day, the history teacher - Jakub Orłowski, MA - will emphasize the essence of the regaining of freedom by the Republic of Poland. This is of measurable importance in the context of building the cultural identity of all Polish students.

Additional materials - free and available for purchase

It is worth noting that each student receives a commemorative mug, designed by the school's management. It is also possible to purchase books by Izabela Bielińska and literature that is her editors, and the offer includes the following items:

  • “Ideas for using activating methods in Polish education in Norway” – NOK 150,
  • “Polish Saturday schools. The image of Polish education on the example of institutions in Norway and Great Britain” – NOK 200.

It is important that all income from the sale of books is intended to cover the costs of statutory activities of the Polish School in Moss. However, it should be emphasized that educational books are bought by parents. They are available for sale on the "Alfa i Omega" educational platform, as well as directly from the Nowa Era publishing house.

Donate your teaching materials

The Polish School in Moss operates on a "NON-PROFIT" basis. The main goal of the activity is to learn Polish, increase knowledge about Poland and provide opportunities to continue education in Poland. The facility is not covered by the free textbooks program, therefore all parents are obliged to purchase all teaching materials on their own. The school is developing thanks to the kindness of people such as Monika Ropega, who donated her own textbooks that she used to teach her children.
