The influx of migrants trying to get to Poland from Belarus has not decreased. Poland will extend the state of emergency by 60 days
Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski said on Monday that he had asked the government for the green light to ask the president about the possibility of extending the state of emergency. He said the border situation was serious.
"There have been several difficult incidents involving Belarusian soldiers and attempts to break the integrity of the border," said Kaminski.
The Polish government accused Belarus of supporting and encouraging migrants from the Middle East to cross the border with neighboring countries.
On September 2, Poland introduced a 30-day state of emergency on a 3-kilometer stretch along the border. The state of emergency allows, among others not entering the premises of journalists and humanitarian aid workers. Extension is possible and very real.
