The tropical hurricane Helena will have a measurable effect on the weather in Norway. It will bring to the Land of Fjords not only warm air, but also strong winds and heavy rainfall. This means that the autumn weather has not arrived for good yet and it is worth refraining from hiding summer jackets in the attic.
Warmer from Tuesday
As Kristian Gislefoss from the Meteorological Institute admitted in an interview with Nettavisen, the coming days are expected to bring significantly higher temperatures. We are to feel the first signs of a more pleasant aura today. In the south of Norway, mercury bars are set to show 20 degrees Celsius. The warming is to be felt even more on the south coast of the country.

The tropical hurricane Helena matters
Kristian Gislefoss also pointed to the close link between warming and the impending tropical hurricane Helena. It is currently located on the Atlantic Ocean and is moving towards the British Isles. This phenomenon will bring with it both a lot of heat and a lot of moisture.
Tropical hurricane Helena and the first storms
Tropical hurricane Helena brings not only much higher temperatures and significantly more humid air. These are also the first autumn storms on the coast of Norway. These will be particularly felt in the north and west of the country. Gislefoss warns that the tropical storm "will bring with it strong winds and very heavy rainfall."

Not only tropical hurricane Helena
The meteorologist also emphasizes that not only tropical hurricane Helena will contribute to the storms on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The low pressure system, which is heading towards Norway, will also be responsible for them. According to Gislefoss, storms will be hardest hit on the west coast. They will be the strongest on Wednesday and probably on Thursday.
In the north, the storm is less noticeable
Inhabitants of the north coast will also feel the storm, but not as intense as those in the west of Norway. There will also be a clear cooling down there. However, intense storms will bypass the south and east coasts. People who live there can breathe a sigh of relief.

Don't hide your shorts yet
Summer will come to Norway, but for a short time. The tropical hurricane Helena, which is heading towards the British Isles, is responsible for the significant increase in temperatures. It will bring not only a more pleasant aura, but also the first autumn storms. These, in turn, will be particularly noticeable on Wednesday and Thursday at the west coast, although they will also affect the northern outskirts of the country.
