These peaks are worth climbing in Norway

Not everyone loves the mountains. People can be divided into those who like to sunbathe on the beach and swim in the sea or the ocean, and those who cannot imagine a vacation without another climb to a mountain peak. If you are in the latter group, we suggest which peaks are worth reaching in Norway. 

Galdhoppigen

It is the highest peak in Norway and is 2469 m above sea level. It is located in National Park Jotunheimen is surrounded by large glaciers on three sides. Its height may be misleading, because although it is called the largest peak in Norway, it is one of the most frequently visited mountains in this country. Why? Because the terrain the mountain is not difficult or heavy and depends on the person Overcoming it does not require much high-mountain experience. In the summer, you can meet really large numbers of eager tourists on this route. The route starts at the Spiterstulen hut, near Lom. The time we have to spend to get to the top is about 4-5 hours. The descent takes much shorter, about 2,5 hours.

Pulpit Rock

Its height is 604 m above sea level. It is the main tourist attraction around Stavanger, but also throughout Norway. Many people who have already had the opportunity to reach the peak believe that it is the most beautiful place on Earth. The time we have to devote to this route, which leads us to the rock pulpit located above the Lysefjorden fjord, is less than three hours. What's better is the travel time there and back. Therefore, people who do not love mountains and avoid such walks will be able to do it easily, and the guarantee is a view of the quintessential Norwegian landscape.

Slaughter

The Slogen peak is 1564 m above sea level. It is one of the most beautiful mountains around Ålesund. Its location is in the very center of the Sunn Maritime Alps. A lot people as in the case Galdhøppigen peak, believes that only persistent and experienced mountain lovers can conquer this mountain. Nothing could be further from the truth. Its pointed top and very, steep walls are only appearances, because in fact, reaching the Slogen peak is really easy, and certainly easier than one might expect. Her high height can only cause problems for peoplewho complain about fear of heights. Reaching the peak requires more time, so it will be an ideal solution for spending an active weekend in the mountains. Please note that the route from Patchelhytta Hut is not marked, but no this is no problem with reaching the top.

Gaustatoppen

Gaustatoppen (1883 m above sea level) rises majestically above Rjukan and is called by many the most beautiful mountain in Norway. The peak is easily accessible and easy to climb, but still offers the widest view in the world southern Norway. From the top, in good weather, you can see about one-sixth of Norway.

Each year, more than 120 people climb the mountain, which is visible from large areas thanks to its distinctive elongated white-striped ridge southern Norway. Easy access from central areas eastern Norway also makes the peak a popular hiking destination.

kjerag

The 1000-meter-high mountain is a wonderful experience both from the fjord and from the summit. Will you also dare to go wild?

The actual hike to the Kjerag Plateau takes place in a barren landscape with lots of rocks and bare rocks. The terrain is hard and demanding, a the journey is long, but once you get there, you will be rewarded for your efforts. From the parking lot at Øygardstølen, follow the path marked T. We start the trip with a steep climb to the first mountain ridge.

Troll tongue

This is a rock shelf that "hangs" approximately 700 meters above the Ringedalsvatnet in Skjeggedal. The view from Trolltunga is spectacular and the feeling when you step out onto Tunga is a nature experience you will remember for a long time.
