Murder of a 16-year-old girl in Vinstra. Interrogation of the suspect today.

On Wednesday, October 31, a tragedy occurred in the small town of Vinstra (Oppland district). A 16-year-old girl was murdered. Police received notice of the case at 15:54 on Wednesday. The suspect, who turned out to be a 16-year-old boy, was successfully arrested. His hearing is scheduled for today.

"Hard time for everyone"

Vinstra is a small town with only 2 inhabitants. According to the mayor of the Nord-Fron commune - Rune Støstad - everyone knows everyone here. In his opinion, the intimate character of the village is magnified by the size of the tragedy that happened there on October 500st. "It will be a hard time for us and I urge everyone to stick together" - said the mayor for Nettavisen.

Fatal stabbed knife

On Wednesday, October 31, at 15:54 pm local police received a report of a knife attack. The victim turned out to be a 16-year-old student at a local school. The inflicted wounds turned out to be so serious that the teenager died at 17 p.m. The attack took place on a private property in Vinstra. The victim's neighbor tried to catch the perpetrator, but was stabbed in the leg with a knife. He was taken to the hospital in Lillehammer and his condition was not life threatening.

The perpetrator is a 16-year-old boy

It was the injured neighbor who informed the police about the incident. He acts as a witness in the pending proceedings. Thanks to his testimony, it was possible to establish that the murder may have been perpetrated by a 16-year-old boy from the same town. The teenager was supposed to be interrogated a moment after his arrest, but it turned out that the perpetrator himself was injured and had to be hospitalized.

“I don't know what type of injuries they were. But I know that my client has already left the hospital in Lillehammer, was transferred to a juvenile center and will be interviewed on Friday, ”said the boy's defense attorney, lawyer Lorentz Stavrum.

Many questions, few answers

Police still do not know under what circumstances the murder took place, what the motives were, and what exactly happened on Wednesday afternoon. The teenager has not yet provided any explanations. The police did not comment on this either. It is known that the girl's neighbor will act as a witness. It is not known, however, whether the whole incident was seen by anyone else and whether there are still other witnesses.

There will be psychiatric examinations

According to Lorentz Stavrum, the teenager will appear in court on Friday. He will also be questioned by the police. After these actions, standard proceedings for this type of cases will be continued. It is possible that the boy will undergo a psychiatric examination.
