A story like from a movie, but this one really happened. The Guardian journalist Moya Skarner tells the extraordinary story of a man who for 41 years lived a different life.
Summer, the night of the year 1969, a small town in North America, this is when a young boy is born. Born to a young, unmarried woman who knew from the very beginning that she would give her child up for adoption. This young man is described by journalist Moya Skarner, Aex Carter (the man's name and surname have been changed to protect his family). Unfortunately, that night the boy was not the only child born in the same maternity ward.

Life after adoption
Alex grew up in a foster family, in which he had siblings, also adopted. From an early age, he showed great enthusiasm for learning. When he grew up, he started his studies and moved to Europe to become a scientist. Thanks to this trip, he met many new people who became his new family. Relationship with the foster mother deteriorated when Alex confessed to her that he was homosexual. A Christian woman could not accept this. After graduation, he started working at the university and for 10 years he conducted classes for doctoral students. During one class, he was greeting each participant when suddenly he heard a familiar accent in a man's voice. Then he said to a friend "I have a weird feeling that I know this guy."

The same
After assuming that Alex knew this man, they had a conversation. During it, it turned out that they were born at the same time, in the same small town. They studied at the same university in North America and had the same supervisor for their thesis. They both worked in the media during their academic work and even had the opportunity to talk on the phone once when Alex was working in PR and John was a journalist. Apart from many common features, they were united by a bond. The relationship between the men continued, they met on average every 6 weeks and even laughed that 40 years ago they could lie in the same ward in adjacent cots.

It is then at the same time that all children born to Alex's biological mother receive the letter. The correspondence was to inform the children that their mother, who abandoned them, wants to meet them and get to know them. She had cancer. Alex had a lot of doubts before this meeting. The appearance of the mother as described by the social worker and her photos told him that it could not be her. However, he believed that he would meet the woman introduced to him as his biological mother on one condition, if he accepted his homosexuality. So it happened.

Awkward meeting
When did Alex meet his biological mother anna louise, and two younger sisters, the man felt uncomfortable. He felt no bond with his mother or siblings, nor could he see any resemblance between them. After the meeting, he told the guardian, "It must be some mistake, it cannot be my mother and they are not my sisters." Afterwards, he shared the whole story with John, and John replied, "Genes aren't everything, look at me and my twin sister."
My mother is also Anna Louise
During the conversation, Alex said, “Maybe she really is my mom Anna Lousie and our lack of external similarity proves nothing. " Then John froze and replied, “My mom does that too anna louise". There was silence between the men. During the further conversation, it turned out that Alex and John were brothers, and what's more, they were twins. Alex lived a life that wasn't his own for 41 years. Suddenly in his people appeared in life similar to him, with the same DNA, with the same preferences.
How did it come about?
On a summer night, in a year 1969, there are two young women in one maternity ward. Both have the same name: anna louise. They both give birth to babies, but in a time when it was not possible to know the baby's gender before birth, it was easy to make a mistake. It also happened this time.
