Let's imagine that we are going shopping and we only have cash in our wallet. We want to pay with it for purchases made by us, but the seller refuses to accept it. Does he have the right to do so? It turns out that Norwegian law allows the store to refuse to accept cash.

W Norway as well as in many places around the world, more and more people use cashless payments. The rectangular plastic that is our payment card has become an indispensable element of our wallet. Experts agree on one thing - in a few years our society will be cash-free. Currently, it can be noticed that certain industries, such as the tourism industry, are introducing this trend, which will become normal in a few years. However, it should be remembered that there are still many people who are used to shopping for which they will pay in cash. Norwegian law clearly states that sellers should make it easier for consumers to pay in cash.

Cash will not be lost
Norway sees no obstacles to performing the experiment that would make this country the first country to eliminate cash payments. However, you should not be afraid that the cash will be lost completely. Last week, the president of the central bank Øystein Olsen told NRKthat even if the amount of cash used in Norway drops, it will not be lost, now or in the future.

Stena Line and cashless payments
More and more companies are introducing changes to their thresholdswhich are cashless payments. Another company that joined the ranks of this group is Stena Line. On their website you can read information that currently passengers who are staying on the route from Oslo to Fredrikshavn, they will only pay by credit card on the entire deck of the ship. The only exception is the casino. The same goes for SkiStar, which runs the Trysil and Hemsedal ski resorts. According to the company's management, paying only with a payment card reduces queues for statements and increases the company's efficiency.
Hotels prefer cashless payments
Peter Stordall, owner of Nordic Choice Hotels, believes that the introduction of cashless payments to each hotel will reduce the risk of theft and unsafe situations. Additionally, it will reduce the time-consuming and unnecessary cost of counting and controlling cash by hotel employees.
Everything takes time
Just because in more and more places you can only pay with digital money, it doesn't mean that withdrawing your cash in its entirety will be so simple and quick. This process takes a longer amount of time.
