The customs agency has established changes in the rules of procedure due to the amount of tobacco products etc. that can be brought duty-free as luggage and the amount of such goods that can be purchased at the duty-free point at the airport upon arrival. This amount will be halved from 1 January 2023 r.
Od 1 January 2023 people residing in Norway they can bring 100 cigarettes. 125 grams of other tobacco products to choose from. (e.g. snuff or rolling tobacco). Or 100 grams of other nicotine products and 100 cigarette papers as baggage free from tax when arriving from abroad to Norway. This will also be the amount that can be sold to travelers from duty-free sales points upon arrival in Norway.
Duty-free kiosks at airports can currently only sell cigarettes in full cartons. A carton of cigarettes nowadays usually contains 200 cigarettes. To give cigarette manufacturers time to adjust the size of the carton to the quantity that can be sold at duty-free outlets, in the period from 1 January 2023, until July 1, 2023, it will be possible to sell cigarettes in packs.

No change for whom?
It is worth emphasizing that duty-free points at Norwegian airports will only be able to offer cigarettes in full cartons. Currently, full cartons usually contain 200 cigarettes. However, in the period from 1 January 2023, until July 1, 2023, it will also be possible to sell cigarettes in packs. This change is intended to enable producers cigarettes, adapting the size of packaging to the new regulations regarding quantity.
