On Tuesday morning, Health Minister Bent Høie announced that Norway was going to vaccinate on COVID-19 75 percent of the population at risk and 50 percent of the rest of the adult population. This could happen in 2021.
This means that, in general, two-thirds of the adult population in Norway will be vaccinated. This is in line with the estimates that EU countries relied on, said Høie.
This statement was related to the seminary.
During the seminar, it was announced that the EU has struck deals with several vaccine developers who hope to have them approved vaccines and start delivering doses in 2020, Councilor Minister Bjørn-Inge Larsen was asked by VG whether it is possible to vaccinate two thirds of Norway's population 2021 w roku.
- Believing that is not completely unrealistic. If the most optimistic estimates of all these companies are correct, then I think they are correct - replied Larsen.
On Tuesday, the government convened the press for a vaccine work seminar related to vaccine development COVID-19. There, Health Minister Bent Høie and Development Minister Dag-Inge Ulstein wanted to explain the issues in detail vaccinations.
Also present at the seminar were Ministerial Councilors Bjørn-Inge Larsen, CEO John-Arne Røttingen at the Council for Scientific Research and Geir Bukholm – Area Director at the National Institute of Public Health.
