– For more immigrants to find work or obtained a stable connection with work, it is extremely important that they learn Norwegian. That's why we support flexible Norwegian language education, which means more people learn Norwegian in less time. The program works very well and that's why we will continue this one important work, says Minister of Employment and Social Inclusion Tonje Brenna.

The target group of the program are immigrants

The grant program will help participants eventually achieve an independent level of Norwegian language proficiency (B1 or higher). The target group are immigrants who have exhausted or do not have the right to Norwegian education in accordance with the Integration Act and who need to improve their Norwegian.

Many program participants are people who know some Norwegian but need to learn more in a short time. Ukrainians are also covered by the program.

Grant recipients are approved private and public providers of Norwegian education, who can apply for a subsidy of up to NOK 10 per participant under the program. The rate covers 000-80 free hours training per participant. You can also apply for grants in cooperation with employers or voluntary organizations. The program is managed by IMDi.
