. The latest report by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Anniken Hauglie, proves that this makes it difficult for Norwegians from poor families to work.

Immigration makes life difficult for poor Norwegians

Many people come to work in Norway. It turns out that the rising rate of foreigners severely weakens the job opportunities for Norwegians who qualify for poor families. The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Anniken Hauglie, ordered a study to be carried out to check what the interested parties themselves think. Almost 1,1 million people born in Norway participated in the study. The results are unequivocal. Immigration makes it difficult for Norwegians from poor families to start working.

Dominance of immigrants

The immigration rate in Norway is increasing year by year. The years 1992-2016 show that the share of immigrants in the adult part of society increased from 5 percentage points to 18. It is these immigrants who arrived, as the results show, who took positions that were previously occupied by Norwegians from poor families.

Everything can be explained by immigration

The authors of the report agree on one thing - all of them differences that can be noticed between Norwegians, who have different social origins, 75% can be explained by immigration. The employment rate of Norwegians from the poorest families dropped by over 3% in the 33-36 age group. An additional change is the income difference between Norwegians from poor homes and those from the "middle class", it is as much as 30%.

We're not saying stop!

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Anniken Hauglie, despite the negative results of the report, does not want to close the borders of Norway. He believes that the report has shown what to do. First of all, its main goal at the moment is to even better qualify and educate young Norwegians for work. In addition, it wants to focus on reducing crime on the labor market, as well as on companies that offer their employees inhuman working conditions.
