The perpetrator of the whole incident is a 20-year-old Russian citizen. The man was arrested on Saturday for the next four weeks. The attacked woman's lawyer, Ola Lunde, stated that the perpetrator posed a great danger to society and that the best solution would be to isolate him from the outside world in the long term. The man adds that if not for the quick intervention of the police, the scenario of the whole incident could be much more tragic.
He was inspired by terrorism
The detained 20-year-old man, a Russian citizen, testified after his arrest that his goal that day was to kill as many people as possible. He added that he calls himself a terrorist, and he drew inspiration for all of this from the attack in Paris, which took place in November 2018. Then 130 people died. The incident in Germany, when a truck hit the Christmas market and killed 12 people and injured 48, also inspired the perpetrator. At the moment, defense lawyers are of the opinion that the boy must be tested to see if he was sane at the time of the act.
